Our studio/workshop is situated within the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT), a monumental industrial complex on the Brooklyn waterfront.

Originally designed by renowned architect Cass Gilbert as the nation’s largest military supply base, this landmark building now serves as a premier hub for a diverse community of manufacturers, artists, and innovators.

ABOUT

SOLMISTUDIO designs furniture, objects, and lighting that balance heritage with a modern perspective, working between New York and Italy.

Founded in 2023 by Mauro Solmi, the studio draws from a family background in metalsmithing and design.

Mauro holds a Bachelor of Product Design from the University of Florence and an MS in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano. He sharpened his eye at Fuseproject in San Francisco and Creme Design in New York.
